My top goals are for students to enjoy:
• making music
• reading music
• understanding music
Games are used frequently in beginner lessons to introduce and review musical concepts. Reading music is emphasized and students sight read at most lessons. Learning theory is a gradual process directly related to the music each student is learning. I also enjoy teaching improv, composing, and lead sheets if the student is interested in these.

*** Young children benefit from an adult’s help between lessons; a parent/guardian would be required during all lessons for students ages 7 and under. Any age student also benefits from an adult helping to scheduling a “music time” for at-home playing regularly throughout the week (time length depends on student’s age and level).
